Through a survey of his friends and a classroom investigation with Teacher Susie, he learns to estimate by counting out ten, picturing groups of ten and then guessing. He practices the method at home, comparing his guess of twenty-two shells to the actual twenty-eight, and tries it again at dinner with his family. The episode ends with Sid waving goodbye and imagining estimating the stars in the sky.

Zero Effect - The Case of the Missing 0s

Two child detectives, Agent Olive and Agent Otto, work for Odd Squad, an agency run by kids that solves strange problems with math. In this case zeros are disappearing across town, shrinking a giant ball of gum and dropping prices, and threatening to turn Otto into a baby before his tenth birthday. Olive and Otto gather clues and use place value to track down a 'number hog' who is hoarding zeros, cornering him at a cupcake shop. The zeros return, the town is restored, and the episode closes with Otto's birthday party.

Double Trouble

Kid agents Olive and Otto of Odd Squad take on the case of Debbie, a pizza deliverer who has accidentally been doubled into four copies, one of whom has gone missing. Working between a pizzeria, neighborhood streets and the agency office, Olive uses the math of doubling to predict that the rogue double is delivering to doubled house numbers, while Otto keeps the other copies busy. They track the missing double to 20 Main Street and reunite the group. Rather than getting rid of the extra Debbies, the team decides to train them as helpers so Debbie can keep up with her orders.

Bad Luck Bears

Kid detectives Agent Olive and Agent Otto of Odd Squad take a case where the Bears basketball team keeps having bad luck. They discover the number 13 is behind it and add up the players' jersey numbers to find where it is hidden, then swap Olive in as player 99 so the totals no longer make 13. The Bears go on to win the big game against the Rams. Along the way the agents also fix a woman whose cello playing causes odd effects.

Agents Olive and Otto of Odd Squad, a detective agency run by children, investigate why objects keep disappearing around town. They notice that tires, bagels and chairs are vanishing in fours, model the problem with counters, and trace it to a song called 'Takeaway 4' by the band Soundcheck, which removes four of something each time it plays. To fix it they get the band to perform a reversed 'add four' version, with Otto stepping in as the missing fourth singer. The episode ends with both songs played together to keep everything in balance.
