Auntie Midge tells a story about a wolf pup who overcomes its fear of the dark by finding a pack. Emboldened by his friends, Oscar finally confronts the monster and finds it is just a large pile of snow.

The Harvest Spirit

During a Harvest Festival dinner in the town of Sturdy Stone, Pinecone questions why everyone hides indoors from a Harvest Spirit no one has ever seen. She, her unicorn Pony and their friend Hawthorn set out on a nighttime quest, following an eerie moaning sound through the streets and into the swamp. They discover the sound comes from jilly-toads driven out of their flooded home by the town's heavy festival float. The town moves the float, frees the toads and celebrates together, agreeing to keep the tradition without harming the swamp.

Monster in the Garden

Craig and his siblings spend a weekend at their grandparents' house, where granddad's vegetable garden is being mysteriously eaten. Craig teams up with granddad to build a fence and set traps, imagining the culprit is a shapeshifting monster. After each plan fails, he patiently watches the garden at night and discovers the real thief is a deer slipping through a hole in the fence. Grandma, a city councilwoman, calls to have the fence holes patched, and the mystery is solved.

The friends quietly take care of Gladys's chores, and the soup finally works.

This Calls for Courage

Pinecone realises she should have called for help sooner, and the troll's booming bellow finally summons her dad, mom, and Lichen's own friends. Everyone reunites safely and heads off to share a salad, with the troll rejoining his community.

Caillou's Not Afraid Anymore

The Forest of Darkness

They discover the star seed only appears once the light is switched off, and Ord collects it despite his fear. The episode ends back home that night, when Ord receives his own star in the sky as a surprise.

Trick or Treat

On Halloween night, the bear cubs Brother and Sister plan their trick-or-treat route but decide to skip Witter Jones' house because they believe she is a witch who turns cubs into statues. Mama insists she is a kind neighbor from her quilting class, so the cubs eventually knock, cross paths with the Too-Tall gang who came to cause trouble, and briefly think their friends have been enchanted. They discover Witter Jones is warm and playful, hands out candy apples, and turns her spooky tricks on the bullies. The family ends the night at home, with Papa heading back out for a candy apple of his own.

Little Bear and his friends Duck, Cat and Hen decide to go exploring and set out to find the special tree where Mother Bear and Father Bear once carved their initials. Along the way they cross the woods, drink at the water, chant an explorer's oath, and reach a cave where a strange sound makes them imagine a monster and run home. Mother Bear explains the noise was only an echo, and together they return to find the tree with the carved initials still there. The story plays out in a gentle watercolor forest world.

The Gecko Effect

Chris and Martin Kratt set out to discover how a gecko climbs on smooth surfaces. After a failed suction-cup experiment, they miniaturise themselves to study a Tokay gecko's toe pads up close and learn about microscopic electrostatic hairs. Meanwhile, the villain Zach Varmitech steals their miniaturiser and traps the team, who escape by using their new gecko powers to climb out. The episode ends with the inventions reclaimed and the brothers naming the gecko 'Okay'.

A short closing story-time segment follows, in which Bradman and Furby find a secret garden to help a butterfly regain her colors.

In the Haunted House

Carlos has invented an instrument for a school concert, but it makes only a 'loopy' sound and he cannot fix it in time. When the magic school bus overheats, Ms. Frizzle's class ends up spending the night in what turns out to be the Sound Museum, a spooky old house where they chase mysterious noises and learn that sound is made by vibration. Guided by their questions and a living descendant of the museum's founder, Carlos works out that his instrument needs to vibrate freely, strips it down, and finally produces the sound he imagined. The episode closes with a phone call to the show's producer that reviews how sound and hearing work.
