Rosie Fuentes decides to make her own movie at home and takes on the role of director. She casts her younger brother as the camera operator and the family cat in a costumed part, then acts out a pretend detective story with hats, glasses and a treasure prop. When takes do not go to plan, Rosie keeps adjusting her ideas until the film is finished. The episode ends with the family watching the completed movie together on their TV.

Muffy, a confident organizer at Lakewood Elementary, is thrilled to visit Italy with her father but worries about leaving her friends to run the school bake sale. While she is away, the friends swap her Italian theme for New Orleans beignets and jazz, and the sale is a hit, which leaves Muffy feeling unneeded. When her friends realize how much her ideas and presence meant, they bring her back to help settle a disagreement over decorating the stage curtain. A short closing segment has real children explain who civil rights leader John Lewis was.

Mr. Peabody, the museum curator, finds a pair of magic compasses and accidentally opens portals that throw the museum into chaos. Ridley Jones and her friends, the Eye Team, set out to track down the loose compasses and return them before things get worse. Their search takes them through an Egyptian tomb, a snowy world and other corners of the living museum. They work together, put the compasses back in the right hands and set the museum right again.
