Daniel Tiger is playing pretend jungle with his stuffed tiger when Prince Tuesday arrives to babysit so Mom and Dad can go out dancing. Daniel walks Prince Tuesday through his bedtime routine of pajamas, potty, and brushing teeth, but realises at lights-out that his tiger toy is missing. Together they retrace the evening's play and find tiger in the pillow cave, after which Daniel falls asleep. Mom and Dad return as promised, give the fuzzy goodnight kiss, and the episode closes on the 'Grown-ups come back' song.

Michael spends the weekend pet-sitting the neighbour's dog, Yuko, with big plans to become her best friend. When Yuko prefers playing with his younger brother Carl, Michael feels left out, until the panda neighbour Stillwater shares a story about Dario, a mouse who learns the joy of giving. Michael realises that keeping Yuko safe and happy, and sharing the fun with Carl, is what good pet-sitting is about. The episode closes with the whole group heading out for a walk together.

Esme, a young girl, and her monster best friend Roy work as monstersitters. In this episode they look after a small monster that cannot settle for naptime, and they try a series of quiet activities, including a puppet show, to help it rest. After several attempts the little monster finally falls asleep, and the characters celebrate together. The story takes place mostly inside a home in their monster neighbourhood.

Spike the Hedgehog

Jessica agrees to look after Spike the hedgehog while her friend Stanley and Lulu fly to the Philippines to visit family. With help from her mom and Small Uncle, she learns to feed him, clean his cage, and handle him gently, discovering that banana slices coax the shy pet out. When Spike escapes and hides under the bed, Jessica recalls Stanley's advice and lures him back safely. Stanley returns to a happy, settled hedgehog and thanks Jessica for the great job.

On a spring day on Puffin Rock, little puffling Baba discovers a hibernating hedgehog and decides to stay beside it until it wakes. His older sister Una and their rabbit friend May take turns checking on him while exploring worms, frogspawn and new flowers around the island. May offers to babysit so Una can play, and everyone slowly understands that Baba wants the hedgehog to enjoy spring with them. By evening the hedgehog stirs and the family gathers to enjoy the season together.

Donkey Hodie is babysitting a baby yodel bird in the puppet world of Someplace Else. When it is time for the baby's nap, he refuses to settle, so Donkey Hodie and her friends Purple Panda and Duck Duck each try the tricks that helped them sleep as little ones: quiet peekaboo, a slow nap dance and a nap book. Nothing works until they decide to think about what the baby himself needs, soothing him with rocking, a gentle breeze and a yodel lullaby. The baby finally falls asleep, and the tired friends admit they feel like napping too.

Lunch Crunch

Esme, a girl, and Roy, a large yellow monster, babysit a young monster named Simon while his grownups are away. When Simon's favourite fish and stinky cheese sandwich is eaten and the ingredients run out, the pair try a pretend restaurant, a spoon game and finally food sculptures to coax him into tasting something new. Along the way Simon has an upset moment that is calmed with a breathing exercise. By the end Simon happily tries carrots and other foods and proudly calls himself a food artist.

A Week at Grandma's

When Mama and Papa Bear leave for a week-long second honeymoon at Grizzly Mountain Lodge, Brother and Sister Bear stay with Gran and Gramps, sure the week will be dull. Instead the grandparents fill the days with harmonica and yo-yo lessons, building ships in bottles, harvesting honey, fishing, a barbecue, and dancing. The story cuts between the cubs' happy week and the parents' trip, where Papa keeps meeting small mishaps. The family reunites at the end, with the cubs asking to visit Gran and Gramps again and everyone planning a family vacation.

George is left in charge of Professor Wiseman's young kitten, Lucky, while the Man with the Yellow Hat goes to rescue dinosaur bones. Lucky falls for Hundley the dachshund, but Hundley is allergic, so George builds a pretend dog that matches how Hundley feels, sounds, and smells. When Lucky slips into the building's walls, George uses Hundley's sneezes to track him down. Lucky is freed safely and the adults return home with pizza and bones.

Ada agrees to babysit her brother Arthur's pet lizard, Lil' Liz, even though lizards give her the heebie-jeebies. When the lizard escapes from an unlocked cage, Ada and her friends Rosie and Iggy use the scientific method to track her down, researching the lizard's habits and building a cosy 'lizard lounge' stocked with her favourite things. Lil' Liz returns to the lounge and Arthur forgives Ada, who has lost her fear along the way. The episode ends with Ada bubbling over with new questions about the lizard.

Home with Herb

Harvey the dog promises to look after Herb, a small plant belonging to his friend Alan. When Herb keeps looking sad, Harvey and his friends Jack and Ginger try squeaky toys, a trip to the playground, and books about what plants need, but nothing works. They finally realise Herb is only happy when he is held, and Alan returns with a special holder so Harvey can keep him close. A short closing segment follows Harvey singing about all the things he is thankful for.
