By the end Daniel asks if he can come back, and he shares the same advice with Miss Elaina before the closing song.

Sid wants to know how his tiny pet roly-polies move, so he brings them to school to investigate with his friends. Teacher Susie introduces the magnifying glass as a science tool, and the class uses it to look closely at skin, crayons, and the bugs themselves. Sid discovers that roly-polies walk on fourteen little legs and records his findings in a journal. He reports back to his dad during a backyard bug hunt and ends the day imagining a hat full of magnifying glasses.

New Classmate

Eddie, a young boy, learns that a new girl named Frida is joining his class and worries that his familiar routines will change. Guided by a calm narrator through chapters called Preparing, Welcome, Changes and Being kind, he watches classmates make welcome cards, practises greeting someone new, and eventually offers Frida his rocket toy when she looks unsure. Set almost entirely in a colourful classroom, the story follows his shift from resisting change to accepting it. By the end Eddie says he is really glad Frida is there and is ready for a new classmate.

Worry Detective

On the first day at Wildwood Elementary, Hattie Harmony, who calls herself a 'worry detective', helps her friends handle their nerves. She gives Pearl a way to shake off belly butterflies, hands Seymour a squishy ball to ease class jitters, and teaches Duncan to breathe slowly when he cannot find his bus. Along the way Hattie faces her own fear at the top of the big slide and talks herself through it. The two authors open and close the read-aloud with a short message about managing worries.

Sister Bear is nervous about starting third grade after Too Tall's gang teases her that it is impossibly hard. At home, Brother, Mama and Papa reassure her, and Mama uses a photo album to recall how Sister once dreaded kindergarten yet quickly came to love it. Encouraged, Sister tries third grade and comes home pleased, while Papa faces his own fear and bakes his first apple pie. The episode ends with the family together and the lesson that new things are worth trying.

On the coastal island of Puffin Rock, young puffin Oona and her baby brother Baba stumble onto the owls' flying school run by Otto. They try each owl lesson in turn, hunting, silent flying, night vision and the head swivel, and discover puffins simply cannot do what owls do. When a puffling drifts toward the water, Oona swoops in to help. The episode ends with the owls wanting to learn puffin skills instead, and the narrator noting that puffins and owls are each incredible in their own way.

Captain Mouse

A small mouse decides he wants a bath, and one idea leads to another until he becomes Captain Mouse setting off on a boat adventure with his friends Cat and Pig. They paddle across a lake, discover an island, and share a picnic, then find their boat has floated away. Working together, they build a raft and rig a picnic blanket as a sail to get themselves home. Oliver, the boy, returns from school to find they solved it on their own, and the story circles back to a bubble bath.

Sid the Science Kid

Super Science Tools

Sid is a young boy who collects science tools and cannot decide which is his favorite: his magnifying glass, estimation jar, chart or ruler. He brings the magnifying glass to school, where teacher Susie and his friends explore each tool through hands-on investigations, from magnifying tiny bugs to estimating balls in a jar and measuring the classroom with their bodies. Real children appear in short clips trying the same activities themselves. By bedtime Sid decides he likes all of his science tools equally.

Mighty Milton

A new cub named Milton Chubb arrives at school and on Farmer Ben's farm, and Too Tall's gang teases him for being clumsy at every sport. Brother befriends him, realises Milton is strong at wrestling and farm work, and arranges a tryout where Milton pins Too Tall using a move he calls 'the pancake.' Too Tall apologises and the team welcomes Milton. The episode closes on the cubs cheering him as 'Mighty Milton.'

A Royal Visit

At Honeydew School, the bees learn that the Queen is coming to celebrate the school's 100th birthday. Everyone is given a job, but Busby keeps being turned away and his painting gets ruined, so he slips off to a quiet spot on his own. There he meets a friendly stranger who suggests he paint a new picture to send to the Queen. When the visitor is announced, Busby discovers his new friend is the Queen herself, who asks him to keep his painting for her.

First Day Of School

Cory Carson, a small blue car, wakes up for his very first day of school. His mother drives him through town to the Motor-Sori school, where he feels too nervous to join in and asks to go home. After watching the others and helping build a block tower, he makes friends with Freddy, Timmy, Kimmy and Halle. He decides to stay, and the new friends knock the tower down together at the end.
