Kiya is getting ready for the Kimoja kite festival in Kimoja City and decides to build her kite alone instead of with her father, the way she does every year. When Acrobat disguises a motorised glider as a flying monster to steal food from her father's new community truck, Kiya insists on tackling him without Motsie and Jay, and Acrobat tricks her and carries her father off. She calls her friends in, divides the rescue between them, and together they free her father and drive Acrobat away.
