Carl is convinced his favourite shirt has shrunk, so he goes to see his panda neighbour Stillwater, who is practising Tai Chi in the garden. As they move and talk, Carl slowly realises the shirt did not shrink, he has grown. Stillwater tells him the story of Nani, a hermit crab who learns to leave her outgrown shell for a new one. In the end Carl accepts a bigger hand-me-down shirt from his brother Michael and joins Stillwater for one last Tai Chi move.

Little Bear and Father Bear set out early to catch the biggest fish in the lake. They pack a picnic, row out in a boat, and Father Bear teaches Little Bear to be his first mate, showing him how to row and cast a line. While they wait, they talk about life at sea, share cookies and imagine what they might catch. They reel in only a small fish, and the day ends with the two of them playing and splashing together in the water.

The Meteor Shower

On a night on Puffin Rock, young puffin Una and her family and friends set out to watch the August meteor shower together. Along the way they gather hedgehogs, owls and others heading for the sand dunes, while a narrator explains how shooting stars are made. When Una learns her friend Silky is too worried to come, she leaves the show to reassure her and offers to stay by her side. Silky joins them, the friends welcome her with a berry, and the whole island watches the meteor shower together.

At Grizzly Ted's summer day camp, Sister Bear and her friend Lizzy spend their days swimming, hiking, and doing crafts, until the counselor announces an overnight sleep-out on Skull Rock. Sister secretly dreads sleeping so far from home and hides her worry until Lizzy gently draws it out of her. Together they decide to practice with a night in the backyard, and Sister succeeds. She heads to the real sleep-out feeling ready, sharing a campfire story and searching for shooting stars.

Diving Deeper

Young puffin Una practises her diving on the pebbly beach while her baby brother Baba looks for a special pebble to help. When Una tries a deeper dive she cannot reach the pebble and feels everyone is watching, so her friend Silky the seal joins her and helps her spot it. Una takes a deep breath, dives down herself, and brings the pebble back up. The friends cheer, and the episode ends with the idea that it was good friend practice too.

Sarah, Duck and the Penguins

Sarah and Duck sit at a computer looking for something to do, and Duck picks penguins. Sarah dresses Duck in a wetsuit, puts on a zookeeper outfit, and the two of them visit a zoo to meet real penguins. Duck tries to mingle, swim, and eat like a penguin but discovers he cannot quite manage it. The episode closes with Duck accepting that being a duck is fine and the pair calmly watching the sea cows.

Silky's New Friend

On the Irish island of Puffin Rock, the seal pup Silky is thrilled about her new friend Clementine, who turns out to be a small clam. Her puffin friend Oona doubts what makes an ordinary clam special, but when Clementine disappears in the ocean the two search the coral reef together. Along the way they learn how clams bury themselves in the sand to escape seagulls, and Oona comes to see the clam's cleverness. They find Clementine and introduce her to Bernie and baby Baba, ending on the idea that even the smallest creatures can be amazing.

Silky and the Octopus

On a calm Irish island, a young puffin named Una and her seal friend Silky explore an underwater lagoon and follow a pod of dolphins. When Silky is startled by a strange eight-armed creature that vanishes in a black cloud, they visit the older seal Bernie, who explains that it was an octopus. Reassured that the octopus was more scared than she was, Silky returns with Una to see it properly. The octopus gives them a little wave, and the narrator notes that every day is an adventure on Puffin Rock.

Little Nutbrown Hare sets out one spring morning and finds a small yellow creature following him everywhere. He visits Field Mouse, Grey Squirrel, Redwood Fox, and White Owl, ruling out each animal until he realises the creature is a lost duckling. By the river the duckling is reunited with its mother, and the hare returns home at sunset to tell his father about the day and share a loving goodnight exchange.

A Hot Day

On a hot day on Puffin Rock, baby puffin Baba grabs a tuft of fur that turns out to belong to Flynn the fox. Oona decides it must go back and, with the sleepy shrew Mossy and Baba, follows a trail of fur to Flynn's empty den. Finding fur everywhere, Oona grows worried and searches until Flynn appears, perfectly fine, and explains she has simply been shedding her coat and cooling off with a swim. The friends end the day splashing in the water together.

Pete at the Beach

Pete the Cat and his family drive to the beach, where his older brother Bob plans to teach him to surf. Pete secretly fears the big waves, so he stalls by playing in the sand and burying himself to stay cool, while his mom quietly senses something is wrong. Bob figures out the problem, admits he was once scared too, and slowly introduces Pete to the water. Pete rides his first wave, falls, tries again and finishes the day surfing happily as the sun goes down.
