Miffy and the Birthday Cake

The friends rush to the waterfall and just catch the salmon leaping before the sun climbs too high.

Over several days the two invent games together, pretending to live in the forest, planting a seed and chasing a wild pig. Her mum comforts her with the idea that special people sometimes come for a while and then leave, and the seed they planted grows into a small tree.
