Repairing
Repairing is about noticing something is broken and believing it can be made whole again. For young children this covers a torn page taped back together, a wobbly chair, a bandage on a knee, or a friendship patched up after a hard moment. A calm series about fixing things shows that damage is not the end of the story, and that patience and a plan often bring something back.
For 2-year-olds
At two, a broken toy can feel like a small loss, and the repair matters more than the method. Look for a series where an adult or older friend simply fixes the thing while the child watches, with plenty of time between steps and clear before and after moments. Repeated phrases and a visible result help a toddler follow what happened. The comfort here is emotional: it was broken, now it works again.
For 3-year-olds
Three-year-olds want to hold the tape themselves. This is the age of naming tools and copying actions, so a series that shows a hammer, glue or a screwdriver in use gives real vocabulary to carry into play. Helpful stories keep the problem small and solvable within one story, with a character who tries, asks for help, and finishes. Avoid stories where the fixing happens instantly or off screen, because the doing is the whole point.

For 4-year-olds
By four, children start to understand cause: it broke because it fell, so it needs support here. Series that pause to work out what went wrong before reaching for a tool feed that thinking, especially when a character checks whether the repair actually held. This age also connects repair to caring for someone, whether that is mending a stuffed animal or tending a scrape. Look for characters who stay calm when the first attempt does not work.

Five-year-olds can follow a repair with several steps and remember why each one matters.
