A Present for Mother Bear

Little Bear, a young cub, decides he wants to give his mother a special present. He sets off through the forest and visits his friends Hen, Owl, Duck and Cat, gathering ideas and picking wildflowers along the way. Back at the cottage, the friends come together for a celebration with music in Mother Bear's honour. Little Bear hands her a large bouquet and she gathers him into a warm hug.

In the pony town of Ponyville, the farmer pony Applejack insists on harvesting her family's entire apple orchard alone after her brother Big Macintosh is injured. Too proud to accept help, she grows exhausted and bungles favors for her friends, launching Rainbow Dash off course, baking inedible muffins with Pinkie Pie, and scattering Fluttershy's bunnies. Her friends keep offering support until she finally admits she is overwhelmed and lets them help finish the harvest. Twilight Sparkle closes by writing to Princess Celestia that friendship means both giving help and accepting it.

Friendship Is Magic Part 2

In this second part of the opening story, the unicorn Twilight Sparkle and five new pony friends travel through the dark Everfree Forest to find the Elements of Harmony and stop the villain Nightmare Moon from bringing eternal night. Along the way each pony meets a challenge that draws out a quality: honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity and loyalty. Twilight then discovers that friendship itself is the sixth element, and together the friends defeat Nightmare Moon. The villain is transformed back into Princess Luna, reconciles with her sister Princess Celestia, and Twilight stays in Ponyville to keep learning about friendship.

The Runaway Raccoon Balloon

Two raccoons, Risky and Royale, live in Metro Pet City and wish crowds would cheer for them the way they cheer for the RoboGobo rescue team. They cobble together super suits and mistake a giant parade balloon for a flying crab monster, cutting it loose so it breaks free and endangers the crowd. Dax and the rescue pets work together to steer the runaway balloon and tie it down with a parked car. By the end the raccoons understand that being a hero is about helping others, not about costumes, cheers, or treats.
