Three siblings and their panda neighbor Stillwater set up a backyard party to watch a lunar eclipse. Just as the moon starts to darken, clouds roll in and hide the best part, leaving the children disappointed. Stillwater helps them talk about how the letdown feels and tells a story about a woman named Antonia and a songbird that visits her garden and then flies away for good. The children realize the evening was still worth it, hand out the moon pops, and close the night with shadow puppets and a song.

Young Jedi Kai, Lys and Nubs join their friend Celeste on a camping trip to the Blue Forest to watch the yearly night lights. Celeste is so busy taking holo pictures that playful creatures called Lumikas keep stealing her camera, forcing the friends to move camp again and again. After they tumble into a pit, they escape by playing catch with one of the creatures and climb high enough to watch the lights. Celeste sets the camera aside and realizes the moment matters more shared than recorded.

Petey the Stargazer

Petey, a boy who loves stargazing, decides aliens must not be real after a supposed UFO turns out to be a blimp. His friends Goldie and Romeo, unwilling to let him lose that wonder, secretly stage crop circles, a homemade UFO and an alien visitor named Zor-Zor, and soon the whole town of Boysenburg prepares a welcome. When Petey discovers it was all his friends' doing, he decides that having friends like them means anything is possible and keeps believing. The segment ends with the group back at their telescopes and a short teaser for the next story.

Gets Lost in Space

When the planetarium is closed, Ms. Frizzle takes her class on a field trip through the solar system aboard the magic school bus, joined by Arnold's boastful cousin Janet. After an asteroid knocks Ms. Frizzle out of the bus, the children use her science clues to figure out which planet she landed on, working their way from Jupiter out to Pluto. They find her, and Janet lets go of her need to collect proof of everywhere she has been. The episode closes with a producer answering children's phoned-in questions about what the show got right and wrong.
