Mokey Fraggle grows troubled that Fraggles keep eating the crystal towers the hard-working Doozers build, so she persuades her friends to swear an oath to stop, even bringing in the smooth-talking Convincing John to sway everyone. Soon Fraggle Rock fills with unfinished buildings, and Mokey discovers the Doozers actually need the Fraggles to eat their towers so they have room to keep building. She admits she was wrong, apologizes, and releases everyone from the oath. Alongside this, Doc putters in his workshop with his dog Sprocket, puzzling over how to sew a button onto a fried egg.

Xavier needs to tell a spooky campfire story at the museum sleepover but only thinks up silly ideas. With his sister Yadina and friend Brad, he travels through the Secret Museum to England in 1805 to meet author Mary Shelley, who shows them how to use imagination and tell stories their own way. Xavier returns to the campfire and tells a story that is both spooky and silly, about a ghost that tickles toes. A short closing story-time segment follows, in which Bradman and Furby find a secret garden to help a butterfly regain her colors.

Craig brings a cicada shell to the creek to impress his friends and find a keepsake for his granddad, but a swarm of cicadas emerges and traps Craig, Kelsey, and JP in their hideout. They try a message in a bottle, ration old snacks, and are let down by Jason, who abandons them when there is no ice cream reward. Watching a captured cicada molt after seventeen years underground, they decide they can wait it out too and run to freedom. Craig frees the bug, keeps a shell for his granddad, and the friends pose for a photo.

Sydney is thrilled to write her first poem for class but keeps getting low grades from her eccentric teacher, Mrs. Harris, who tells her to 'dig deeper'. With help from her best friend Olive and her dad Max, Sydney tries fancy words and even schemes to charm the teacher, all without success. Only when she writes an honest poem about being angry does she finally earn an A. A parallel flashback shows Max facing the same teacher as a teen, and Grandma Judy starts college.

This is a double episode of 'Wayside', a surreal cartoon set in a school built as a tall twisting tower. In the first story a holiday-obsessed matchmaker tries to force classmates Todd and Maurecia to fall in love on Valentine's Day, until the two talk it over and decide they do not hate each other after all. In the second, the teacher Mrs. Jewels leaves for a staff retreat and her class mistakes a stray cow for their substitute, 'Mrs. Bellamy', learning to write about their feelings before the real teacher returns. Each story ends back in the familiar classroom, with Todd once again threatened with the kindergarten bus.

At the Krusty Krab, Squidward finds SpongeBob's little yellow diary and cannot resist picking the lock and reading it. He shares the private entries aloud, and the customers and town laugh at SpongeBob for details like his spatula named Fifi and his habit of clucking at plaid. Word spreads through Bikini Bottom, the crowd turns on Squidward, and he loses his home over it. SpongeBob forgives him, but the story ends with Squidward reading SpongeBob's secret personal diary as the humiliation begins again.
