Little Nutbrown Hare sets out one spring morning and finds a small yellow creature following him everywhere. He visits Field Mouse, Grey Squirrel, Redwood Fox, and White Owl, ruling out each animal until he realises the creature is a lost duckling. By the river the duckling is reunited with its mother, and the hare returns home at sunset to tell his father about the day and share a loving goodnight exchange.

Bing, his friend Coco and baby brother Charlie are at home with their carer Flop, marking how tall they have grown with grow lines on the wall. When Coco measures Bing but forgets his ears, the line comes out lower, and Bing becomes frightened that he is shrinking down to baby size. Flop checks the line again, spots the missed ears and shows that children only ever grow up, not down. Bing ends the episode reassured and cheerfully recaps what happened.

In two stories set in Fuzzy Town, raccoon Carl and his animal friends navigate friendship at school. In the first, Carl wants to win School Spirit Day with a potato diorama of the staff, but he hurts Forrest by dismissing his roller-skate idea; he learns to make a sincere apology and uses a potato to power Forrest's helmet lights. In the second, Nico joins the Junior Nutty Buddies, and when the club leader bullies Forrest for a nut allergy, Nico gives up his membership to defend him and the other members follow. Both stories end with the friends celebrating together.

A baby gets the hiccups during a game of hide-and-seek with his siblings, and the children set out to cure him. They try familiar remedies like holding their breath, sucking a lemon and drinking upside down, then decide to scare the hiccups away by dressing up and playing monsters. After much roaring and rehearsing, a surprise fright from Ramona the cat finally does the trick. The baby ends up cured and announces he wants to be a monster when he grows up.
