This Calls for Courage

Pinecone, a young warrior, sets out on her first solo mission with her pony to gather wild vegetables, refusing the Help Me Horn her dad offers so she can prove her independence. After getting lost, the pair tumble into an underground burrow where a large troll named Lichen seems ready to eat them, but he turns out to be lonely and kind, hiding away out of shame for needing help himself. Pinecone realises she should have called for help sooner, and the troll's booming bellow finally summons her dad, mom, and Lichen's own friends. Everyone reunites safely and heads off to share a salad, with the troll rejoining his community.

The Final Book

Kelsey, Craig, and JP set out to find the missing final book of the Dragonmancer series after it goes overdue at the library. Framed as a detective case from the 'Smarty Boys' mystery books, they interview kids who are role-playing as horses and ninjas, chase down a red turtle shell backpack, and hit several dead ends. Craig eventually deduces that Stacks, who writes book reports for other kids, hid the book. Stacks admits she was afraid of losing the only friend who talks with her about stories, and Kelsey forgives her and suggests they read a new series together.

Annabelle, a warrior-in-training from a family of famous artists, is assigned to make something for the big art show but fears she has no talent for it. She joins Pinecone's family crafternoon, gets overwhelmed, and tears up her painting before running off in tears. Her mother June then unveils a painting of Annabelle mid-performance, showing she sees her daughter as a living work of art. Annabelle accepts her crafting token, feeling understood, and plans to share a crafternoon with her own family.

Lost in the Sewer

Craig, JP and Kelsey head into the storm sewers to map them for the self-styled Sewer Queen, a kid who leads a group of children playing underground. When the queen goes missing after losing her glasses, the panicked kids turn to Craig, who charges off to lead the search and lands everyone in a trap. He stops, admits he rushed in without a plan, and reasons out how to drain the flooded chamber back to the creek. The group finds the queen pinned under a car, frees her together, and heads off for a snack.

O Prickly, Where Art Thou?

Pinecone, a young warrior, joins the Little Rumblers for their first overnight in the fearsome forest and secretly brings her stuffed hedgehog, Prickly, afraid the others will tease her. When Prickly is carried off by a griffin, she and her friend Pony chase him through skunks, dark woods and creatures to get him back. After a hard search, Pinecone admits in front of everyone that she loves her stuffy, and the other children and their leader Gladys reveal they have comfort objects too. The group works together to recover Prickly and ends the night with a campfire story.

Fourth Bath

Kiff arrives for her first sleepover at the Bunz family home and is welcomed as an honorary member with a hand-me-down sweater. When she learns the family takes baths in age order and she would be stuck with the fourth bath, she schemes her way up the hierarchy, making deals and tricks with each sibling to claim the first bath. Her meddling stirs up squabbles and chaos across the household, and she feels guilty enough to try to leave. The family forgives her, explains that sibling rivalry is just part of family life, and tells her she is now truly one of them.

You're It

In the wooded creek where a group of kids spend their afternoons, Kelsey the self-styled warrior gets tagged in a never-ending game of tag and refuses to pass it on to any other child. With her friends Craig and JP, she seeks out the elders of the creek and tries several ways to end the game rather than doom someone to play alone. After Craig takes the tag himself, they find a studious boy who hates the creek and tag him. The episode ends with Craig announcing that tag has left the creek forever and the friends reunited.

Honors Class; Cabbage, My Boy

This is a two-part episode of the school comedy Wayside, set inside a towering, surreal school. In the first story, Maurecia scores highest on an aptitude test and is sent to an honors class she hates, so she schemes to get back to her friends by acting too foolish to stay. In the second story, Myron treats a head of cabbage as a baby brother for a class project, which makes the only-child Todd jealous enough to fake a sibling of his own. Both stories close with the friends reassuring each other that they belong together.

Totally Table Town

Kiff, a squirrel who lives in Table Town, decides to film a video proving her home is wonderful after an online stranger calls it boring. She rounds up her friends and the townsfolk and leads them to a cliff for the perfect shot, but they wander into a dark forest, get lost, and panic over the legend of a Ghost Wolf. The Ghost Wolf turns out to be a friendly figure who guides them back to safety. Kiff finishes her video, more certain than ever that Table Town is awesome.

Career Day

Kiff, an eager squirrel, and Barry, her cautious rabbit best friend, grab summer jobs at City Hall in the town of Tabletown. Under the paperwork-obsessed boss Mr. Glurbin, every small task buries them in forms, until the pair get hooked on shredding and destroy all the documents. They try to hide it with a faked robbery, get caught and fired, but the townspeople they helped arrive to give thanks instead of complaints. Glurbin softens, the old staff return, and Kiff and Barry move on to backup jobs for the rest of the summer.

Meet the Pets; Oh, Great Leader

This is a pair of animated stories set at Wayside, an unusually tall school. In the first, a new boy named Todd is left to watch the whole class's pets, loses track of them, and gets them back with help from his classmates after remembering his goldfish King Arthur, who had died. In the second, the principal Mr. Kidswater mistakes the children's surprise birthday party for a plot against him and recruits Todd to spy on them. Both stories end with Todd feeling that he belongs and is part of the group.
