I Choose You!
Ten-year-old Ash Ketchum oversleeps on the day he should pick his first Pokemon, leaving only a stubborn Pikachu for him at Professor Oak's lab. Ash and Pikachu travel through countryside and forest, where Ash fails to catch a Pidgey, learns from the Pokedex that battles are needed, and runs into a flock of attacking Spearow. To save the wounded Pikachu, Ash takes a girl's bike, rides through a thunderstorm, and asks Pikachu to trust him; Pikachu fights back with a massive electric attack that drives the Spearow off. The episode closes with the new partners walking on together, followed by the Pokemon Rap and a 'TO BE CONTINUED' card.
Pull My Pigtail; Class Cow
This is a double episode of 'Wayside', a surreal cartoon set in a school built as a tall twisting tower. In the first story a holiday-obsessed matchmaker tries to force classmates Todd and Maurecia to fall in love on Valentine's Day, until the two talk it over and decide they do not hate each other after all. In the second, the teacher Mrs. Jewels leaves for a staff retreat and her class mistakes a stray cow for their substitute, 'Mrs. Bellamy', learning to write about their feelings before the real teacher returns. Each story ends back in the familiar classroom, with Todd once again threatened with the kindergarten bus.
Super Playdate
Zoe lives in a coastal lighthouse with her grandfather and is secretly the superhero StarBeam. When her friend Henry comes over for a planned playdate, twin neighbours Greta and Gunther join in, and the alien villain Goop sneaks into the lighthouse to try to steal a beam key. Zoe transforms into StarBeam, hides the twins in a pillow fort, and uses Henry's Mega Launcher 3000 to blast Goop away. The friends celebrate the rescue without realising Zoe is StarBeam and head off to test the launcher some more.
Cordon Bleugh!
Matilda cooks a huge pot of green stew and serves bowls of it to Red, Chuck and the three Blues at a stone table on the cliff. One by one they gag, spit and pull faces, and Matilda ends up in tears. While the birds are distracted, helmeted pigs creep toward the nest of eggs, and Matilda drives them off by emptying her cauldron over them. The pigs make off with the stew, eat it, and end the episode flat on their backs in the mud while the eggs stay safe.
