Playing in snow

Snow changes everything a child already knows about being outside. The ground is soft and loud underfoot, hands get cold, and things can be pushed, packed and thrown in ways sand and grass never allow. A calm series about snow lets a child rehearse all of that from the warmth of the couch, so the real thing feels familiar instead of overwhelming.

For 2-year-olds

At two, snow is mostly a body experience: cold on bare skin, the crunch of a boot, mittens that make hands clumsy. A toddler is still learning the words for what winter feels like, so a series that lingers on one simple action, catching a flake, patting a mound, gives language time to attach to sensation.
