Seeking comfort

Piglet wakes in the night after a loud noise and, feeling scared, asks the viewer to stay for company. Alone in a cosy treehouse bedroom, Piglet worries about a lost pair of comfort toys, then calms down by picturing tomorrow's fun with Winnie the Pooh and other friends. As the fear fades, Piglet grows sleepy again and asks to be tucked in. The episode closes with a quiet goodnight before an autoplay card for the next episode.

Pooh Bear's Boo Boo

In a green storybook forest, Winnie the Pooh greets his friend Kanga, then trips and scrapes his knee. Kanga comforts him with a hug and puts a yellow bandage on his boo-boo, explaining it will help it heal. Pooh cheers up, decides to start their hello over again, and Kanga surprises him with a honeypot. The two say goodbye until next time.

Big, Bigger, Best

In a sunny town park, a young boy named David wishes he were bigger so he can reach the monkey bars and slam dunk like his older brother Liam. Barney, a friendly purple dinosaur, uses a bit of magic to grow David bigger and then biggest, but each new size ruins the things David loves, from hide-and-seek to eating a pretzel. After David grows frustrated, Barney helps him calm down with a breathing exercise and explains that he will grow at his own pace. David asks to return to his regular size, tells his brother he loves himself just as he is, and the friends head back to their game.

Three-year-olds start putting feelings into words, though often the wrong ones or all at once. They also test small separations, saying goodbye at the door and then wanting reassurance. Stories that name the feeling out loud, sad, scared, missing someone, and then show a comforting response give a child language they can borrow. The Forest of Darkness

Siblings Emmy and Max use a magic scale to travel to Dragon Land, where their friend Ord is given the job of finding a star seed deep in the Forest of Darkness. Ord is afraid of the dark, so the friends help him by playing music, using dragon fire breath as a light, and encouraging him to keep trying. They discover the star seed only appears once the light is switched off, and Ord collects it despite his fear. The episode ends back home that night, when Ord receives his own star in the sky as a surprise.

Exploring

Little Bear and his friends Duck, Cat and Hen decide to go exploring and set out to find the special tree where Mother Bear and Father Bear once carved their initials. Along the way they cross the woods, drink at the water, chant an explorer's oath, and reach a cave where a strange sound makes them imagine a monster and run home. Mother Bear explains the noise was only an echo, and together they return to find the tree with the carved initials still there. The story plays out in a gentle watercolor forest world.

Tig, a young girl, visits a busy funfair for the first time with her mummy, daddy, friend Angel, and her toy spider Woolly. While Angel loves every ride, Tig feels overwhelmed by the noise and wants to go home, so her dad takes her to a cafe for a break. Woolly helps her by naming where each sound comes from, from the dodgems' music to the carousel horses, until the funfair feels manageable. Tig then joins the rides, enjoys the carousel, and the episode ends with a song about her and Woolly.

Nico blames Chip and the friends fall out, leaving Chip guilty and unsure if they are still best friends. She goes home, talks it over with her mama, and brings Nico a 'sorry' cake, but he is already asleep, so she resolves to make up with him the next day.

The Monster Under the Bed Mystery

Squeaky the duck loses his new ball under the bed and becomes convinced a monster is hiding there. At bedtime his friends and parents reassure him, and Edwin, a singing rocking horse, teaches him that everyone gets scared and that looking closer shows there is nothing to fear. Squeaky gathers his courage, looks under the bed, and discovers his ball alongside his old stuffed dinosaur Pete. Everyone then settles down to sleep.

By four, a child is starting to comfort themselves and others. They may fetch their own toy, take a breath, or pat a friend who is crying. Look for stories where the child character tries something first and an adult stays nearby without taking over, so the effort belongs to the child. Fears also grow more imaginative at this age, so it matters that worries are taken seriously rather than laughed away.

Little Llama packs a big bag and goes for his longest sleepover yet at Grandma and Grandpa's house. After a day of picking vegetables, cooking, riding the tractor and stargazing, he realizes he left his stuffed Fuzzy Llama at home and cannot imagine sleeping without him. His grandparents comfort him, and Grandpa offers Little Linty Llama, the very toy he slept with as a boy. The next morning Little Llama reunites with Mama and Fuzzy, proud that he stayed the whole time and made a new friend.

Stories that show a child admitting something is hard, and being met without judgement, quietly give permission to speak up. At this age a child can also follow how a character felt at the start and how that shifted by the end, which is where the real learning sits.
