Shadow

Bing, a young rabbit, discovers his shadow while playing in the garden and plays a game of shadow tag with his carer Flop, taking turns as the 'shadow monster'. When a big rain cloud covers the sun, the shadows vanish and the two head indoors, but Bing is upset that his shadow is left out in the wet. Flop explains that a shadow stays close to you and only appears when light reaches you, then uses a torch to bring Bing's shadow back inside. The episode closes with Bing recapping the game and the idea that shadows need light.

Piano

Three animal friends, Ela the fox, Hari the hippo, and Seren the bat, play in a pop-up-book world while a narrator runs a word game. The day's word is 'piano,' and Ela is chosen to find it. She works out that a piano must stay dry and so should be indoors, then searches a house, mistaking a spoon and some saucepan lids for the answer before discovering the real piano. She returns to tell her friends what she found, and the group says goodbye.

Fly a Kite

Duck and Goose, two friends in a grassy meadow, decide to build and fly a kite after the wind carries off a hat. They gather paper, vines, sticks, a rubber ball, tree sap and the hat, build the kite, and take turns trying to launch it. Setbacks pile up, including a loose knot and the wind dying down, but they keep trying. The kite finally flies when they combine Goose running into the wind with Duck's bouncing ball, and they end up flying it happily together.

Practice Makes Purple

In a bright city park, the purple dinosaur Barney and his friends Mel, David and Vivi spend the day playing soccer. Vivi decides she wants to quit because she thinks she is not good at it, so Barney invents a string of games, chasing pretend sharks, passing a bursting potato and aiming at a dragon, that are really soccer practice in disguise. When he reveals the trick, Vivi realizes she has been improving all along and happily gives soccer another try. Her grandmother Nona arrives, praises her skills, and the episode closes with a group dance and song.

Save the Garden

In a sunny town park, Vivi and her friends discover that Nona's garden has become tired and overgrown and decide to bring it back to life. When the job feels too big, the purple dinosaur Barney leads them through an imaginative adventure as butterflies and ladybugs, where they learn to move acorns one at a time to guide some squirrels away. They carry that lesson back to the garden, getting others to help with small steps until the whole space is restored. Nona returns to find it transformed and gathers the children into a grateful hug.

The Bull Next Door

Otis, a small red tractor, meets Charles, a farm bird who has lost his shiny blue first-prize ribbon after the wind carried it away. Together with their friend Sal, whose kite the ribbon got tangled with, they set out across the farm to get it back. Along the way Otis builds a bridge over a fence and the three stack on top of each other to reach the kite caught in a tree. They recover the ribbon and end the day flying the kite together.

The Clean Team

Ariel, a young mermaid, is told it is chore day and draws the task of cleaning her messy room. Wanting to play sooner, she lets her friend Lucia cast a magic cleanup spell, but the sponge it creates multiplies and spreads mess across the whole undersea palace. The friends try several ways to stop the sponges before leading them out to the open ocean with a kelp-covered Flounder as bait. Ariel admits her father was right that magic does not replace doing the job herself, and the friends form a 'clean team' to tidy the palace by hand.

Fernie's Notebook

At a show-and-tell in the underwater city of Atlantica, a young merboy named Fernie plans to share fish facts from his treasured notebook. When Lucia's magic trick accidentally conjures a squid that swims off with the notebook, Ariel, Flounder and the others chase it through the reef and into a deep trench lit by glowing jellyfish. The notebook is lost for good in the trench, but Fernie's friends remind him he taught them every fact along the way without ever needing it. He performs his show-and-tell from memory and ends by thanking his friends.

Crystal Cavern Caper

Young Ariel and her friends gather human objects in their underwater Crystal Cavern, then watch their treasures disappear one by one. They discover a hermit crab is taking them and try a series of plans, a basket trap, a magic bubble and a footprint chase, to catch him. When they finally do, the crab, Hermes, explains he outgrew his shell and needed a new home, and that he took the doll because he wanted a friend. The friends forgive him, give him a treasure to live in and welcome him into the group.

Team Mateys

Barney and his friends Mel, Bibi and David set out to buy a triple twist pretzel, but a pigeon steals it and the seller Grady is hard to find. Mel turns the park into a pirate adventure and appoints herself captain, then keeps ignoring her crew's warnings until the friends grow frustrated and leave. With Barney's help she realizes she made them feel unimportant, apologizes and offers a truce. The reunited crew listens to each other, sings about it, and finally catches Grady to share the pretzel.

Space Bug

Tim, a young dinosaur, sets out with his camera and bug-spotting kit to photograph a 'super big space bug' during a picnic with his friend Kai and his mum. Each attempt gives only a blurry piece, and they eventually realise they were chasing the town mayor flying out of control on a jetpack. When the mayor slips and needs help, Tim gives up his photo to catch him, deciding some things matter more than pictures. In the end the real glowing space bugs appear, drawn by the strawberry jam, and the friends laugh over a silly face selfie.

Moon Parrot

Tim and his friends Tia and Tommy agree to look after Callisto, a moon parrot, to prove they are ready for a pet of their own. When Callisto escapes, they chase her across rooftops, drains, trees and gardens, trying one plan after another and even catching the wrong parrot. They finally decide to tell the owners the truth, and learn that Callisto has already flown home and fallen asleep. Realising how much work a pet is, the friends conclude they are not ready for one just yet.
