Small toy cars with faces, including Zack, Axle, Rex and Lily, play in a real forest and sand pit. In the first story they get stuck in a large bowl dug into the sand and try several ways out before circling fast enough to escape. In the second they want to climb a big log, build a sand ramp that keeps collapsing, and learn that wetting the sand makes it firm enough to drive on. Both stories end with the cars succeeding and rolling off toward their next idea.

Mums and Dads

At their kindy, a group of puppy friends play a game of Mums and Dads, taking turns as parents caring for a toy baby named Polly. Rusty and Indy fall out when they disagree about whether mums go to work, so a teacher suggests they play with other friends instead. The children move through the playground trying the game with different partners while a pretend baby keeps causing chaos. In the end Rusty and Indy apologise, agree that mums can work if they want, and happily start the game again.

X Marks the Bot

A young robot named Doug joins his friend Emma, who is playing Pirate Captain, for a treasure hunt that moves from her attic bedroom to a sandy beach. Together with Emma's dad they dig through the sand, turning up shells, broken binoculars and a buried surfboard instead of gold. When Emma feels defeated, the children realize the litter they collected can be rebuilt at the Rebots booth into a spyglass, compass and treasure chest. The episode ends with Doug giving Emma a shell he shaped himself and both agreeing they had a treasure of a day.

Stuck Up

At a playground sandbox, the toy digger Rigo gets sand stuck in his scoop after an avalanche, so Doc McStuffins takes him to her clinic for a checkup. She runs tests, is briefly stumped, then gets sand in her own eye and, after her mom washes it out, realizes sand in Rigo's joints is the problem. With help from Buddy the dump truck and Squeakers, she clears the sand and his scoop moves freely again. Rigo returns to building, this time being careful with the sand.

Sandcastles

At the beach, Sally the cat sets out to build the biggest sandcastle in the world, one to 'last forever,' while her friends build a sand city nearby. When the tide starts rising, the group tries a wall, a mountain of sand, and a hole to drain the ocean, but nothing holds the water back. The castle is washed away and Sally is heartbroken, until Pete and the others comfort her with the idea that the day lives on as a memory. The episode ends with a song about sandcastles and memories and a plan to come back and build again tomorrow.

Pirate's Treasure

Leo, June, Annie and Quincy dress up as pirates in their Rocket Room and discover a musical map that leads to buried treasure. Guided by the map's crescendos, beats and buoys, they travel across the Pacific Ocean and underwater in Rocket, racing the rival Big Jet who wants the treasure first. The children invite the viewer to pat, count and whistle along at each step. They reach the X, dig up a nautical whistle, drive Big Jet away, and close with a Curtain Call reviewing the art and music.

Beware of the Mudblups

Teddy, a bear, travels with his friend Grubby and the inventor Newton Gimmick in an airship that runs out of fuel over a vast desert. While digging coal to refuel, they are captured by mud creatures and locked underground, where they meet the imprisoned Prince Arin. Using the creatures' fear of bright light, they light candles and escape to the surface. Rather than continue their treasure hunt, the friends decide to help the prince search for his missing sister.

Bubbles builds a machine in her attic workshop that copies whatever it points at, testing it first on a green apple and then on a small figure. Pogo climbs in through her window to see what she is doing and ends up duplicated, and soon a crowd of identical Pogos spreads across the neighbourhood playing tricks on Fuse, Zee and Jeff. Bubbles and the original Pogo spend the night tracking the copies down and firing the machine in reverse to remove them. The episode ends back at the workshop window with the neighbourhood quiet again.
