On the last day of summer vacation, a young llama plans to fly kites in the park with his friends Nellie, Luna and Euclid. When his kite rips he repairs it, and when rain arrives the group invents indoor summer with an indoor beach, indoor kite flying and a homemade sunset. Mama helps Llama Llama see that a changed plan can still be a good day. The sun returns, and everyone flies kites and watches the real sunset together from Grandpa and Graham's boat.

Doc removes the twig and reassures the nervous helicopter, who then flies up and rescues Chili. The episode ends with the toys celebrating the successful rescue and the repaired helicopter.
