The Meteor Shower

On a night on Puffin Rock, young puffin Una and her family and friends set out to watch the August meteor shower together. Along the way they gather hedgehogs, owls and others heading for the sand dunes, while a narrator explains how shooting stars are made. When Una learns her friend Silky is too worried to come, she leaves the show to reassure her and offers to stay by her side. Silky joins them, the friends welcome her with a berry, and the whole island watches the meteor shower together.

Why Is the Moon Out During the Day?

Jessy, a girl with glasses, and Nessie, a purple monster in pyjamas, disagree about whether it is day or night when Nessie spots the moon in a daytime sky and wants her bedtime story. Curious about why the moon and sun are out together, they call up to the moon, try an observatory telescope, and are lifted into the sky by their friend Hugh G. They discover the moon and sun are best friends playing hide-and-seek, which is why both can appear at once. As the sky finally darkens, Jessy begins Nessie's bedtime story about the moon.

Space Vacation

Matt the police car is stargazing through a telescope in Car City when he spots a UFO and sees that Rocky the rocket has fled in fright and run out of fuel. Carl transforms into Super Truck rocket form, counts down and launches into space to find him. He catches Rocky just before he flies into a meteor field, shares some of his own fuel, and the narration explains that the aliens had only wanted to help. Everyone returns to Car City, where the closing line notes that even an experienced traveller should always bring extras on a trip.

Tusks, Trouble, and All

Eureka is a young inventor in a prehistoric town called Rocky Falls who frees a stuck woolly mammoth and names him Murphy. She decides to keep him as a pet, but he is far too big to fit through the front door, so she tries one invention after another and keeps failing. After her dad shares his own early failures and tells her to look at the problem differently, she builds a turntable that lowers Murphy into the house through the roof. The family accepts him, 'tusks, trouble and all'.

The Eclipse

On Shape Island, friends Square, Triangle and Circle usually spend Friday fun night together, but Circle slips away to watch a total lunar eclipse. When Square and Triangle also spot the red moon, they vow to keep it their special secret, while Circle, who knows exactly what an eclipse is, feels left out. The secret gets passed around in a tangle of fibs and squabbles until Circle finally explains the eclipse and admits she was jealous. The friends make peace and welcome her into their new club, recreating the red glow together.

Cosmic Catastrophe

In Kimoja City, Kiya and her friends Motsie and Jay are helping Daddy Joe prepare for the night of a million stars when an object crashes into the park and makes everyone nearby dance uncontrollably. The three transform into the Kimoja Heroes and discover the object is a fake meteorite built by Hattie Collider, who is boosting its signal to reach the whole city. Kiya insists on her own plan twice, and both attempts fail before she accepts her friends' ideas and uses the wild dancing itself to lure Galacto Slug away so Jay can destroy the device. Hattie then explains she was building a birthday surprise for Galacto Slug, and the two are invited to join the stargazing party.

Missing Mom

Meteor the space rover watches his mom blast off on a Mars mission and spends the day quietly searching the sky for her radio signal. His monster-truck friends Junk Boy, Sarge, and LT notice he is acting differently and try to draw him back into their rocket-jump games. After he loses his temper and runs off, they catch up and ask him directly what is going on, and he admits he misses his mom. A video message arrives, Sarge tells him it is okay to feel sad, and the friends end the night looking at constellations together.

The Hidden Constellation

Wendy is at the observatory hunting for a 'blue star' constellation she has not yet drawn, and her friend Missy stays up all night hammering together a spacecraft to help her reach it. The next morning the babies gather around the rocket, take photos and admire it, but it suddenly fires up and launches with Wendy, Lena, Lady and Lulu inside. The others on the ground realise the four babies have shot off into space with no plan to come home. The episode ends on a 'To be continued' card with the launched babies floating in space.
