Together they travel there and meet three nocturnal animals, an owl with sharp eyes, a bat with keen hearing, and an opossum with a strong nose, and borrow each sense to follow the trail. The opossum's nose leads them to the hat, whose surprise is a nighttime snack, and they share a midnight feast while the animals explain they stay up to eat. The episode ends with everyone settling to sleep, followed by a short song about how different animals move.
