On his walk the family finds a hurt budgie, boxes it up with a tea towel and drives it to the vet, but the bird dies. Back home, Bluey stages a pretend replay of the whole event with Bingo and her mum, trying to make it end differently before accepting that some things cannot be changed. The episode closes with the copycat game quietly forgotten.

Pip figures out that a talent show will make Cam change into bright, easy-to-spot colours, and the plan works. Cam is safely reunited with his family and learns that being a chameleon is something special.

The episode ends with everyone reunited and JP joking that he too is very inspiring.

Kevin decides to stay his friendly self and the three friends end the day playing hide-and-seek before Lucy says goodnight.
