Sarah and Duck

Lots of Shallots

Balanced
recommended age Unlock co-watching from 2

Sarah and Duck find tiny seeds tucked inside their newspaper and decide to plant them in pots in the living room. They water the soil, get muddy, clean up and then wait through dinner and bedtime for something to happen. The next morning small sprouts appear, and Sarah looks them up in her vegetable book before a character called the Plate Girl arrives to confirm they are shallots, the baby onions that stay small. The episode ends with Duck giving the little shallots gentle 'lessons' in the garden.

The episode ends with the baby reunited with its mother and a short recap of what the children found and learned.

A mustached character named José and his unseen helper move through a string of short stories set mostly in a bright home, garden and treehouse. In each one José chases food and adventure, baking cupcakes, growing carrots, avoiding his toothbrush, recovering from a cold, celebrating Easter and a birthday, with many episodes turning into fantastical dreams. Problems are usually settled by a lesson learned or by waking up, and stories end on a calm, friendly note. The compilation closes with José waking from a cloud dream to find his helper has made him something to eat.

The Lorax

Balanced
recommended age Unlock co-watching from 2

A host named Ms. Linda introduces and reads aloud the Dr. Seuss book 'The Lorax', shown over the book's own illustrations. The Once-ler tells a child how he came to a forest of Truffula trees, chopped them down to manufacture and sell a product called a Thneed, and drove away the Bar-ba-loots, Swomee-Swans and Humming-Fish as pollution spread. The last tree falls, his family leaves, and the factory stands empty beside a pile of rocks marked with one word, 'unless'. At the end the Once-ler hands over the last Truffula seed, and the host invites the viewer to plant and care for one.

The Smurfs

Who Nose?

Stimulating
recommended age Unlock co-watching from 4

Hefty Smurf is convinced by Jokey and Brainy that his nose is too big and that this is why Smurfette does not notice him. He and Brainy steal a spellbook from Gargamel and apply a magic cream that overnight transforms Hefty into a giant living nose. The other Smurfs use a pepper trap to make him sneeze and capture him in a cage so he stays safe until the spell wears off. The closing scene shows Hefty back in his bed, still partly transformed, with Papa Smurf noting it could take a few more days.
