Lug, an older dump truck, scoffs when the newer machines play a superhero game pretending to be Big Rig. The site manager Bozer sends Lug alone to test an unexplored dumpsite, where the ground collapses and Lug sinks and gets stuck. He sounds his horn and strains to rev free, then finds his own burst of power and climbs out. His colleagues arrive, take him back to base, and Lug admits there may be a little bit of Big Rig in him after all.

One color at a time they ask 'What color am I wearing?' and name clothing items in that color, working through blue, green, orange, purple, yellow, red and pink. In a natural history museum where the exhibits wake up at night, the museum protectors quietly hunt for Evie, a small mouse who ran off with Fred the bison's cymbal. They must stay hidden from Mr. Peabody, who wants silence for a wealthy guest planning to buy museum pieces. The friends trace Evie by following her drumbeat's echo, and Evie scares off the buyer to save Fred from being sold. She accepts that 'big is a state of mind' and joins the band as the newest Rotunda.
