Learning letters

A young boy named Eddie is guided through a school task to write and post a letter, and he chooses to write to his Grandpa. A friendly voice walks him step by step through choosing a recipient, writing and drawing, preparing the envelope with a stamp, and dropping it in the post box. The letter's journey by postal worker, sorting warehouse and truck is shown before a reply arrives from Grandpa. Eddie reads the warm response and says he is ready to write and post a letter himself.

Ms. Monica hosts a preschool circle time, greeting the viewer directly and working through a learning board step by step. The session covers the days of the week, checks the weather and dresses a weather bear for a sunny day, introduces the letter K and the circle shape, and counts from one to ten using pencils. She finishes with a name letter song where children clap for the first letter of their name, then says goodbye until the next day. Throughout she speaks straight to the camera and invites the child to answer, sing and point along.

Three-year-olds begin connecting letters to the words around them, noticing that a word starts with a sound they know and asking what a sign says. They can follow a short story and hold a simple question in mind while it plays out. Look for a series that ties letters to real words and everyday situations, sounds them out slowly, and invites your child to guess or answer aloud. A gentle story with a repeating structure helps them predict what comes next, which is exactly the kind of thinking early reading asks for.

Josh, a live-action host, and his animated puppy Blue play a game of Blue's Clues to figure out which book Blue wants to read. Across warmly colored rooms they hunt for three clues, a moon, a cow and the word jump, writing each in the handy dandy notebook and helping a neighbor with groceries along the way. Josh spells words aloud, reads picture sentences with the viewer and fixes jumbled ones like 'The ball threw a girl.' In the thinking chair he combines the clues to name the book as 'Hey Diddle Diddle', then closes with a goodbye song.

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood

Daniel's Picnic

Daniel Tiger and his friends Prince Wednesday and Miss Elaina meet at the castle, ride the trolley to the clock factory park, and start a picnic with Daniel's dad nearby. After an alphabet snack game, a make-believe ant picnic, and a ball game that ends with the ball getting squashed, a sudden rain forces them inside the clock factory. They notice clocks shaped like a castle and a tiger and decide to hold their picnic indoors. The episode closes with the friends thanking the viewer and a song about turning disappointment into something good.

Super Why

Humpty Dumpty

Pig has finished building a backyard slide in Storybrook Village but feels too afraid to go down it. Whyatt calls the Super Readers, who transform and fly into the Humpty Dumpty book to find an answer, clearing the king's horses by matching alphabet snacks, spelling the word 'ladder', and changing a story word along the way. They collect super letters that spell the answer 'cheer'. Back at the slide, the friends cheer for Pig until he slides down on his own, no longer afraid.

Hansel and Gretel

In Storybook Village, Red has eaten one of Peter Piper's pickled peppers without asking, and Peter is upset. Wyatt and his friends transform into the Super Readers, Super Why, Wonder Red, Alpha Pig, and Princess Presto, and jump into the Hansel and Gretel book to find an answer. They follow the alphabet, spell the word 'raft' to cross a stream, and change words in the story to talk with the witch, who is angry her gingerbread house was eaten. The lesson they find is to 'ask first', so Red returns to apologise to Peter and ask for a pepper, and the friends celebrate.

Ms Rachel, a live teacher, guides toddlers through zoo and jungle animals using a repeating peekaboo rhyme, songs, movement and pretend play, with guest appearances by The Wiggles. Children meet elephants, gorillas, lions, penguins and more through real animal footage, toys and puppets, and practise colours, counting to twenty, opposites and letters along the way. She builds a pretend zoo from blocks, takes a make-believe trip to see the animals, and sings familiar nursery rhymes. The video closes with the ABC song and a warm goodbye to the viewer.
