On the way, Miffy meets Poppy Pig and Barbara Bear, who each mention their own ingredients, and by the time she returns home she has brought back vanilla, cream and sugar instead. Mother Bunny gently reassures her and turns the mix-up into birthday ice cream, which the family then enjoys together at dinner.

Ducks

Bing and his friend Sula go with Flop to the park pond to feed the ducks. Sula shows Bing how to stand 'statue still' and stay quiet so the ducks come close, while Bing keeps scaring them off by being loud. A big goose suddenly arrives and gobbles all the food, startling Bing before flying off. By the end Bing tries again, manages to stay calm and quiet, and a single duck comes right up to him.

Shoe Shopping

A young boy named Eddie is told he needs new trainers because his old ones are worn out and his feet have grown. A warm off-screen narrator walks him through the whole trip to the shoe shop, from waiting in a short queue and having his feet measured to choosing, trying on, and paying for a pair. Along the way small hurdles come up, like disliking having his feet touched and the shark shoes being out of stock, and each is talked through calmly. The episode ends with Eddie deciding on the dinosaur shoes and feeling ready to go.

In the Night Garden

Makka Pakka Washes Faces

Calming

A long bedtime story set in the Night Garden, a dreamlike outdoor world of puppet creatures. Makka Pakka travels from friend to friend (Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, the Tombliboos and the ten tiny Pontipines), washing each one's face with his sponge, soap and water. Between visits, the camera follows characters strolling slowly through grass and flowers while a soft narrator describes what is happening. The episode ends with everyone, including a briefly forgotten Igglepiggle, being tucked into bed as the narrator wishes them all goodnight.

Duck & Goose

Purple Plums

Duck and Goose are invited to Bluebird's 'treats and tweets' party at the pond. They set off to a plum tree to pick purple plums, and on the way they nearly lose them again and again because Duck hurries and Goose moves carefully. When the plums end up squashed, the friends turn them into plum pudding and plum juice, which the party guests happily share. The episode closes with a song about flying over the meadow.

Carl the Collector

The Sweater Collection/New Bus Stop

Carl, a young raccoon who loves collecting things, stars in two stories. In the first, his grandfather Pop Pop knits him a sweater that turns out too itchy to wear, and after his blunt comments upset his friends, Carl learns that honesty works best when it is also kind. In the second, Carl's bus stop is moved a few blocks away, so with his friends he makes a map, marks landmarks and practices the walk until he can reach the new stop alone. Both stories end with Carl succeeding, keeping the sweater for his teddy bear and managing the new route on his own.

In the Night Garden

Makka Pakka's Trumpet

In a softly lit live-action garden, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and the smaller families (Pontipines, Tombliboos) move through their evening together. Makka Pakka's small trumpet starts to make a funny noise; Upsy Daisy dances to comfort him, and the friends discover that a stone has lodged inside it. Once the stone is removed the trumpet sounds right again, and Makka Pakka offers the stone to Upsy Daisy as a present. The narrator closes the episode with a 'once upon a time in the night garden' recap that retells the small story before bedtime.

Treasure Hunt

Little Nutbrown Hare sets off across a spring meadow and forest with Little Field Mouse and Little Grey Squirrel to gather treasures for his father. Along the way they meet a bluebird, an otter and other animals who each offer a find, from acorns and eggshells to sparkly stones. Meanwhile Big Nutbrown Hare follows the trail his son has left to find him. They reunite at nightfall, and the father tells his son he is the greatest treasure of all before they share their finds under the spring moon.

Barney's World

The Floor is Grape Jelly

David, Mel and Vivi are playing floor-is-lava in the city park when Barney joins in and the game grows into a whole world of grape jelly. David's mother, Ms. Lewis, asks him to come home in five minutes to help with his baby sister Lulu, and David does not want to go. While the friends make their way toward a castle across the jelly, David gives Barney a push, fetches Mel's lost shoe and shares a snack with Vivi. Barney points out how much he has helped, and David decides on his own to head home to his sister, ending with the group singing together.

The Gratitude Collection/The Pet Rock Collection

Carl, a young raccoon who loves collecting and sorting, stars in two stories set in his town of Fuzzy Town. In the first, he realises he has never thanked the people who help him and spends the day showing gratitude, accidentally causing a traffic jam before finally giving mail carrier Sarah his biggest heart-shaped rock. In the second, he shares his pet rock collection with friends but insists they play with the rocks only his way, until he watches them having fun and decides there can be more than one right way to play. Both stories end with Carl reconnecting warmly with his friends and his Mama.
