Carl, a young boy, spends all his birthday money on a toy robot he imagines will be fifty feet tall and able to shoot light beams. When the package arrives it holds only a small robot, and Carl is deeply disappointed. His neighbor Stillwater, a panda, tells him a story about his friend Dahlia, who planted melon seeds, grew pumpkins by mistake, and turned them into a pie everyone loved. Carl decides he can still have fun with the robot in a different way and plays imaginative adventures with Addy and the others.

Abuela's Birthday

She decides to mail a whole birthday party in a box, and with help from her family she works out that she needs a name, an address, and postage before the mail carrier can send it. Real children then share their own funny misunderstandings.

Jane's Perfect Present

On a prehistoric western ranch, the Cassidy children build a shiny gemstone mobile as a surprise birthday gift for their mother, Ma. At the party the kids admit they lost the present and apologize, and Ma hugs them and explains that spending time together was all she ever wanted. The episode ends with the family singing and dancing at her birthday celebration.

Dora Saves Opera Land

The Royal Ball

Together they teleport through a dinosaur valley, a mermaid beach and a dragon forest, riding a horse grown from a charm bracelet and catching the box when it falls near crocodiles. The princess gets her bow back and gives them armfuls of dresses, so the party goes ahead with Alana crowned queen and the episode closes by asking the viewer how they could help out where they live.

Scrapping for a Song

Nash, a young Jedi, travels to a scrap-covered planet to find a rare musical instrument called a bioharp as a birthday gift for her music-loving mom. With her friends Erin, Lys and Nubs, she searches the junk fields, races a scrapper and trades with creatures, gathering several instruments along the way. After the bioharp is finally lost to a large creature near a pit, Nash decides more than one present can make her mom happy. The episode ends at home, where her mom loves the instruments and the family plays them together.

Island of Youth

Princess Elena keeps her cousin Esteban away from the palace so the family can throw him a surprise birthday party, but he sneaks off to a legendary island to drink from the Fountain of Youth. Back home, Isabel and her grandfather argue over how to play the birthday song. In the end everyone escapes safely, Esteban decides he prefers his own age, and the family celebrates with cake and a blended version of the song.
