Up All Night

Little Bear wants to stay awake all night so he can see the sunrise his father, a fisherman, watches from his ship at sea. Through the evening he keeps calling for Mother Bear, who patiently brings water, cools him down and reassures him, and he meets a friendly Cat who likes the dark. In the end Mother Bear agrees to wait with him for the sunrise, but he falls asleep first. He wakes to morning sure that he saw the sunrise and his father waving, and Father Bear comes home.

Piano

Three animal friends, Ela the fox, Hari the hippo, and Seren the bat, play in a pop-up-book world while a narrator runs a word game. The day's word is 'piano,' and Ela is chosen to find it. She works out that a piano must stay dry and so should be indoors, then searches a house, mistaking a spoon and some saucepan lids for the answer before discovering the real piano. She returns to tell her friends what she found, and the group says goodbye.

Pajama Party Song

JJ opens by imagining a pajama party with pretend animals and a pillow fort, then the episode follows Bella as she is dropped off to sleep over at Cece's house. When Bella realizes she will be away from her mother all night, she feels worried and sad, and her mother teaches her a 'nosy nuzzle' to use whenever she misses her. Across the night Bella uses the nuzzle and joins in games, a dance, brushing teeth and bedtime, feeling better each time. In the morning her mother returns and Bella reports she had fun and feels much better.

First Day Of School

Cory Carson, a small blue car, wakes up for his very first day of school. His mother drives him through town to the Motor-Sori school, where he feels too nervous to join in and asks to go home. After watching the others and helping build a block tower, he makes friends with Freddy, Timmy, Kimmy and Halle. He decides to stay, and the new friends knock the tower down together at the end.

Pull My Pigtail; Class Cow

This is a double episode of 'Wayside', a surreal cartoon set in a school built as a tall twisting tower. In the first story a holiday-obsessed matchmaker tries to force classmates Todd and Maurecia to fall in love on Valentine's Day, until the two talk it over and decide they do not hate each other after all. In the second, the teacher Mrs. Jewels leaves for a staff retreat and her class mistakes a stray cow for their substitute, 'Mrs. Bellamy', learning to write about their feelings before the real teacher returns. Each story ends back in the familiar classroom, with Todd once again threatened with the kindergarten bus.

The Dolphin and the Fruit Bat

Two puppet hosts, Jake the polar bear and Stinky the skunk, run a talk show that welcomes a dolphin named Fluke and a fruit bat named Leia. Between the guest interviews the episode cuts to real wildlife footage explaining how dolphins and bats both use echolocation, along with facts about caves, the Galapagos Islands and the rainforest. A running joke has Stinky trying to make forty different sounds to be as clever as a dolphin. It closes with an animal awards round for the fastest swimmer, a bee's quiz and the hosts waving goodbye.
