Miffy is practising her recorder at home and her mother says the tune needs more players. Miffy invites her friend Aggie, who arrives with an accordion, and mother bunny phones Poppy Pig, who walks up the hill with her double bass and her little niece Grunty. Because there is no real piano for Grunty, Miffy offers her own toy piano. The four of them then play a piece together as a quartet, after which the video ends with a short teaser of the next episode and an end screen.

Miffy's Rainy Day

Miffy wakes up to a rainy day and cannot go outside to play with her friends. Her mother suggests one activity after another: drying the dishes, sweeping the floor, drawing a picture, reading a book, and listening to music. While the music plays, the rain quietly turns to snow and the sky goes blue again. Miffy bundles up in a coat and scarf and runs outside to meet her friends, with a short teaser for the next episode and a subscribe card closing the video.

Donkey Hodie

The Royal Sandcastle Builders

At a sunny beach, King Friday sets out to build a royal sandcastle but keeps getting frustrated when it does not work. Donkey Hodie and Purple Panda join him as the Royal Sandcastle Builders and discover that each of them calms down a different way, by running in small circles, by playing the bongos, or by doing a slow stretch. Once they have managed their frustration, they work out that adding water makes the sand hold together. They finish a castle that looks just like King Friday's real one.

Musical Statues

At an indoor play group it is Bing's turn to choose, and he picks musical statues. With Flop working the music, Bing, Sula, Pando, Coco and baby Charlie dance and then freeze each time the music stops, dropping out one by one when they wobble. Pando is the last statue standing, and Bing is disappointed that he did not win the game he chose, so he stops playing. He soon decides to rejoin because it is more fun with everyone, and the group settles in to play again.

Piano

Three animal friends, Ela the fox, Hari the hippo, and Seren the bat, play in a pop-up-book world while a narrator runs a word game. The day's word is 'piano,' and Ela is chosen to find it. She works out that a piano must stay dry and so should be indoors, then searches a house, mistaking a spoon and some saucepan lids for the answer before discovering the real piano. She returns to tell her friends what she found, and the group says goodbye.

Rusty's Chance to Dance

Two tractors, helpful young Otis and older, stiffer Rusty, decide to hold a harvest moon dance on their farm. They clear a cluttered hayfield, and when the radio breaks they gather friends to make instruments from a bucket, a jug and a washboard. Rusty grows sad when he is too creaky for his old jump-and-spin dance, so Otis helps him invent a slower wiggle dance called 'The Rusty.' The episode ends with the whole farm dancing together.

Danny Sings

Danny is excited to sing his favorite song, 'I Love Today', for his class, but freezes up with nerves when it is his turn. His friends from the Kindness Club meet at their treehouse and try different ways to help, including running to burn off energy and slow belly breathing. After practicing in front of stuffed animals and a group of goats, Danny asks his friends to play instruments alongside him. With their support he sings the whole song for his class and thanks his mini music band.

Jack and Cooper's Hearts

Host Jack spends a day at the Hummingbird Cafe in Clover Grove, where he cuts paper into a string of caring hearts. When his friend Sonia is sad about a cancelled concert, the group sets up a cafe stage so she can sing, and Cooper decides he wants to brighten people's days too. Cooper hands out the paper hearts to Chef, Mr. Green and other neighbors, then learns it was his own kindness, not the paper, that helped. The episode ends with Cooper comforting Bebe over his broken guitar and Jack waving goodbye to the viewer.

In the Night Garden

Makka Pakka's Trumpet

In a softly lit live-action garden, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and the smaller families (Pontipines, Tombliboos) move through their evening together. Makka Pakka's small trumpet starts to make a funny noise; Upsy Daisy dances to comfort him, and the friends discover that a stone has lodged inside it. Once the stone is removed the trumpet sounds right again, and Makka Pakka offers the stone to Upsy Daisy as a present. The narrator closes the episode with a 'once upon a time in the night garden' recap that retells the small story before bedtime.

Stanley's One-Dragon Show

Stanley the dragon prepares a one-dragon show in the park and insists on performing every act by himself. When the orchestra, the magic trick, and a dramatic chicken scene each go wrong, his friend Donkey Hodie and others, Harriet and DuckDuck, coach him through them step by step. Stanley discovers that some problems need help and finishes the full show to a puppet audience's applause. He thanks each friend by name before the closing credits.

Kermit's Sing-A-Long

Kermit welcomes a young boy named Skye onto a small stage to sing 'Old MacDonald' together. After a vocal warm-up, Skye keeps swapping the farm animals for an airplane, a fancy hairdo and apple slices, and Kermit playfully finds a sound for each idea. Miss Piggy, Animal and Gonzo pop in along the way. Gonzo finally reveals the apple slices are snack, and everyone heads off to eat together.
