Cake Bake

On the morning of Duck's birthday, Sarah decides to bake him a cake. After Duck picks an unusual 'bread cake' from the recipe book, Sarah gathers ingredients and starts mixing, only for batter to ruin the open recipe. The cake itself speaks up and dictates the remaining steps while a parcel arrives from Sarah's grandmother containing roller skates for Duck. Once baked, Sarah, Duck and the talking cake head to the park, where everyone sings a birthday song together.

A Song for Lola

Molly helps her friend create a special song to honor her grandmother, Lola Miranda, who is returning to their Alaskan village from the Philippines. Following an Alaska Native tradition explained by Grandpa Nat, the children secretly gather family stories, then worry the funny ones are not serious enough for a gifted song. They learn that a song should match the person it honors, so a cheerful Lola deserves a cheerful song. At the welcome-back dinner they perform it, and Lola calls it the best gift she has ever received.

Sad Baby

Warm at last, Baby heads out, sees the snow-covered rooftop and decides winter is not so bad, and the episode closes with all three doing the happy penguin pose in the snow.

Happy Birthday Blue

The episode ends with the whole group singing, blowing out candles and eating birthday cake.

Birthday Dance Surprise

She teaches the three-part dance to her brother Jay, her friend Lupe, neighbour Mr. Gurley and her dad, finding a different way to help each one learn, from turning the steps into a song to recording a video they can slow down and drawing pictures of each move. The family keeps the dance a secret while they practise. At the party, everyone performs it together and Grandma Annie calls it the best birthday surprise ever.

The Fabulux Hotel has promised its guests holiday cookies, but the kitchen is out of them and the chef is sick, so Star and her pups take the job on. They gather ingredients and bake a batch, until Muggsy grabs salt instead of sugar and the cookies come out hard and inedible. With no time to start over, they tie ribbons and glitter on the ruined star-shaped cookies and turn them into tree ornaments. The hotel manager is pleased, Star gives Muggsy the credit, and every guest goes home with an ornament.

Daniel’s Birthday

Daniel Tiger and his mom take the Trolley to Baker Aker's neighborhood bakery to choose a birthday cake, settling on a tiger-shaped cake decorated with three black and four orange stripes. With mom's help Daniel uses the refrain 'when something seems bad, turn it around and find something good' to reframe both setbacks. A Present for Elly

The Postman
