A young boy named Eddie is guided through a school task to write and post a letter, and he chooses to write to his Grandpa. A friendly voice walks him step by step through choosing a recipient, writing and drawing, preparing the envelope with a stamp, and dropping it in the post box. The letter's journey by postal worker, sorting warehouse and truck is shown before a reply arrives from Grandpa. Eddie reads the warm response and says he is ready to write and post a letter himself.

Stargazing

Eddie, a boy whose favourite thing is space, gets ready to go stargazing in his garden and is joined by his friend Akeel. A guiding voice walks him through each step: choosing a clear spot, setting out chairs, a torch and binoculars, dressing warmly, waiting for dark and turning off lights, then looking up at stars, planets and constellations. Eddie shares facts and is reminded to check whether Akeel has any questions. When it is time to stop, Eddie is reluctant, but Akeel reassures him he can stargaze again, and the episode closes with a recap of the steps.

Super Duper Magic Fun Box

Best friends Donkey Hodie and Panda receive a Super Duper Magic Fun Box from Uncle Panda that produces a bouncing ball, a music baton, and a coconut robot at the push of a button. They discover they don't enjoy the same things, with Donkey loving the baton while Panda finds it too loud, and Panda loving the robot that frightens Donkey. Believing this means they can no longer be best friends, they are saddened until Grampy helps them, through a song, see that friends can disagree if they talk and listen. They reconcile, agree that liking each other matters most, and end by sharing Squishy Lemon Hugs.

Piglet Talks About Feelings

In a bright garden, Piglet welcomes the viewer as friends gather for a picnic with Kanga. When Piglet trips and crushes the picnic basket, he worries everyone is angry and admits he is mad at himself. Kanga and the others reassure him that accidents happen and that talking about feelings helps. Piglet feels better, Kanga produces extra snacks, and the episode ends with a friendly goodbye.

Tower Tower Wow

Lu the ladybird heads to Shell School, where she and her friends set out to build the tallest tower they can. When Dean knocks Gus's tower down as part of a game his own family plays, Gus is upset because no one explained the rules. A teacher helps the friends talk it through until they realize it was a misunderstanding. They end up happily playing 'tower tower wow' together, finishing with a wiggly dance.

Three year olds have sentences now, but not always the words for what they mean, and being misunderstood is genuinely frustrating. This is the age of endless questions and of putting feelings into language for the first time. Helpful series show short back and forth exchanges where someone asks, someone answers, and the conversation visibly gets somewhere. Repeated phrases and songs give a child language they can join in with rather than only listen to.

Who's on the Phone?

Pocoyo finds a pink telephone and cannot work out what it is. Guided by the narrator and helped by his friend Pato, he experiments, listens, and learns to answer it by saying 'hello'. The caller turns out to be his friend Ellie, who is inviting everyone to a party. The episode ends with Pocoyo and his friends gathered together at Ellie's celebration.

Alma the Artist

Alma notices the painted murals around her Bronx neighborhood and suggests decorating the blank gate on Mr. Huda's store. When her friends talk over each other with ideas about spaceships, cowboys, and basketball players, Alma stops to think and proposes that everyone sketch a design for Mr. Huda to choose. He picks Alma's view from her window, and as Andre keeps adding space chinchillas, polka dots, and hippos, Alma learns to speak up and ask him to check with her first. The finished mural includes all the friends, and a neighbor asks Andre to paint the next one.

A live-action host guides babies and young toddlers through a long series of songs, word games and gesture activities filmed against colourful studio and animated backgrounds. She teaches first words like mama, dada, ball and car, plays peek-a-boo, blows bubbles, stacks blocks and sings familiar rhymes such as 'Wheels on the Bus' and 'Twinkle Twinkle'. Real children, a teddy bear, a bear puppet and a blue puppet friend appear in short clips between segments. The video closes with the host waving 'bye-bye friends' and a 'Ms Rachel' title card.

The song travels through Seymore, Juan Peacock, Pequeña, Flora and Mama Maddie, but the words change along the way while the melody stays the same. Mi decides instead to sing it to everyone at once, and the episode ends with a night-time concert for the whole town.

By four, talking is how children run their play: assigning roles, changing the rules, and talking their way out of a disagreement. They can tell a story about their day, though the order wanders. Watch for series where characters negotiate out loud, where a misunderstanding happens and then gets repaired by talking rather than by an adult stepping in. Wordplay and jokes land now too, and noticing that words can be funny is part of understanding how they work.

At home in suburban Australia, sisters Bluey and Bingo spend the day coaxing their busy, work-from-home Dad into games with his green yoga ball, from a pretend elevator to a chase called Raiders. When Dad bounces Bingo too hard, she goes off upset, and her Mum helps her find her 'big girl bark' to tell him. Bingo speaks up, Dad apologises, and together they practise exactly how rough is okay. The episode closes with a comic beat as the children burst in on Dad using the toilet.

Neighbours

Bluey and Bingo build houses out of couch cushions and pretend to be neighbours on a make-believe street, soon joined by Mum and Dad. As each sister keeps expanding into the other's space, Bluey learns to solve the clashes by asking nicely instead of arguing. Dad plays a loud, lonely neighbour who admits he just wants company. By the end the animals and pets are traded and rehomed, and the family settles happily onto their pretend street.

Twin Sister Hamster Sitters Incorporated/The Sneaker Collection

Carl the Collector follows Carl, a young raccoon, and his friends in Fuzzy Town across two short stories. In the first, twin rabbit sisters Nico and Arugula open a hamster-sitting business and discover the difference between things they want and things they need after the hamsters escape and Carl helps catch them with fruit. In the second, Carl gets new sneakers that turn out to be the wrong size and works up the courage to tell his mother, who arranges to exchange them. Both stories close with the friends together and each problem resolved.

Delivery birds Pip and Freddy pick up a striped baby named Tara but cannot tell what animal she is after their fly pad battery dies. They search the savannah, mistakenly delivering her to zebra, tiger, and hyena families before learning to read her gestures as well as her sounds. Watching Tara point the way, they finally reach her real parents. The tapir couple explain that their babies have stripes that fade with age, and Tara is welcomed home with a hug.

Five year olds start to notice that other people know different things than they do, which changes how they explain themselves. They ask questions they actually want answered and can hold onto a longer explanation. Series that let a character wonder something, ask, listen and then think differently show what a real conversation is for. New words are welcome here, especially when the meaning is made clear by what is happening on screen rather than by a definition.

Host Jessi and her robot rat Squeaks explain head lice from a bright studio set, using close-up footage and simple diagrams. Jessi describes what lice are, how they spread through shared hats and brushes, their life cycle from egg to adult, and how to treat them with a fine-tooth comb and special shampoo. She reassures children that anyone can get lice and it is nothing to worry about. The episode ends with her advice to tell an adult whenever something feels unusual.
