This program is well-balanced. It remains mostly easy to follow and process. It is a good fit for the recommended age. The pacing is moderate. The story remains easy for a child to follow. The sound is clearly present and regularly draws attention. The visuals are calm and well-organized.

One thread carries the whole episode: yet another birthday has to be celebrated in the pig village, and the pigs drag themselves through it from dawn until dark. Each scene adds very little that is new, so a young child can follow along without effort, and the day arc from sunrise through the cake to nightfall is easy to read. The small caveat is that some links are left to slapstick rather than logic, such as the giant cake simply exploding over King Pig with no visible cause. Where the chain does hold, it holds clearly: the pig who keeps shovelling cake into his mouth turns queasy right after.

The mood sits mostly in weary resignation, which is calm but flat, and the episode names no feelings and offers no comfort. There are a few sharp swings, the exploding cake and King Pig's furious open-mouthed roar among them, and these are not followed by anyone soothing, helping or checking on the pig who got hit. Nobody in the village supports anyone else; the humour comes from watching the pigs suffer through a party they no longer want. What is missing is anything a child could take off the screen and do; the activities are shown as single gags rather than as steps, and most of what happens (a cake the size of a house detonating, a mouth stretching wide enough to swallow a slab of it) belongs only to the cartoon. The social picture stays thin too, a crowd of subjects and a king who takes the cake, with no relationship worth recognising.

The crown eventually makes its way back and the episode closes on King Pig wearing it again on his throne.

When he straps into the slingshot one more time, the Blues attach a hook and chain to him. Chuck is launched, snagged and ends up dangling from a chain above the canyon while the Blues settle comfortably into the slingshot pouch.

The pigs make off with the stew, eat it, and end the episode flat on their backs in the mud while the eggs stay safe.
