Disappointment

Disappointment is what happens when a child expects one thing and gets another: the balloon pops, the friend cancels, the tower falls. It is one of the first big feelings children meet, and it arrives long before they have words for it. A calm series that lets a character feel let down, and then find a way onward, gives your child a safe rehearsal for the same moment in real life.

For 2-year-olds

At two, disappointment lands in the body first. The wanted cup is gone and the whole day collapses, with no waiting power and no words to explain it. Look for stories where the upset is small, brief, and named out loud by someone nearby, then followed by a quick return to play. Slow pacing matters here, because a toddler needs a few extra seconds to see that the feeling passed and everyone is fine.
