Fig Finds A Shadow

Fig, a young blue fox, finds a flashlight and notices a shadow he does not understand. With a hedgehog friend he heads into a dark cave to explore, shining the light to make shadows grow, shrink, and change shape. They pass glowing crystals and try making different shadow figures along the way. By the end, Fig works out that the mysterious shape is simply his own shadow.

Lots of Shallots

Sarah and Duck find tiny seeds tucked inside their newspaper and decide to plant them in pots in the living room. They water the soil, get muddy, clean up and then wait through dinner and bedtime for something to happen. The next morning small sprouts appear, and Sarah looks them up in her vegetable book before a character called the Plate Girl arrives to confirm they are shallots, the baby onions that stay small. The episode ends with Duck giving the little shallots gentle 'lessons' in the garden.

ABCs with Blue

Josh spells words aloud, reads picture sentences with the viewer and fixes jumbled ones like 'The ball threw a girl.' In the thinking chair he combines the clues to name the book as 'Hey Diddle Diddle', then closes with a goodbye song.

Big News with Blue

Tusk, Tusk, and More Tusk

Molly and her friends Tooey and Trini discover a large tusk buried in the mud near the river in their Alaska village. Grandpa Nat and an archaeologist named Olin Benedict identify it as a woolly mammoth tusk and explain the Ice Age, permafrost, and how the warming climate erodes the riverbank. The children help free the tusk through trial and error, measure it, photograph it, and give it the Gwich'in name 'Trilzok', meaning gentle. The episode ends with a separate live-action segment where children visit a museum to learn whether dinosaurs once lived in Alaska.

Amazing Cave Animals

Reassured that the octopus was more scared than she was, Silky returns with Una to see it properly. The octopus gives them a little wave, and the narrator notes that every day is an adventure on Puffin Rock.

Enough With The Seashells!

The episode ends with Sid waving goodbye and imagining estimating the stars in the sky.

The Whale Episode

The episode closes with Sid reminding viewers to keep asking questions.

A Week at Grandma's

When Mama and Papa Bear leave for a week-long second honeymoon at Grizzly Mountain Lodge, Brother and Sister Bear stay with Gran and Gramps, sure the week will be dull. The story cuts between the cubs' happy week and the parents' trip, where Papa keeps meeting small mishaps. The family reunites at the end, with the cubs asking to visit Gran and Gramps again and everyone planning a family vacation.

By the end Sid cleans the table on his own and feels proud, deciding that charts are useful after all.

I Can Swim

Noah, a young boy with a tiny mouse perched on his head, and a red-haired girl in swim goggles spend this segment in the water learning to swim. A bouncy song walks through the steps one by one: float like a boat, point your feet and kick, paddle your arms, and blow bubbles like a fish. The Spanish phrase 'puedo nadar' (I can swim) appears on screen and in the refrain throughout. By the end the children put all the steps together and celebrate being able to swim.
