Problem solving
Problem solving is what a child does the moment something does not work: a tower that keeps falling, a friend who wants the other toy, a door that will not open. Young children learn it by trying, failing, and trying again, and by watching someone else stay calm while they do it. A slow, well-made series can show that whole loop in a way a child can actually follow.
For 2-year-olds
At two, a problem is physical and immediate. The shape does not fit, the ball rolled under the couch, the boot is on the wrong foot. Toddlers solve these by touching, pushing and trying again, and by asking a trusted grown-up for help. Look for one small, concrete problem per episode, plenty of quiet time to watch what happens, and a solution your child can see with their own eyes rather than only hear explained.

For 3-year-olds
Three-year-olds start holding an idea in mind before acting on it. They will guess, try their guess, and notice out loud when it does not work. This is also the age of strong opinions about doing it themselves. At four, why becomes the main question. Children want to know how things work, and they will test an idea just to see.
