Sharkdog, a half-shark half-dog, is asked to leave the house so Max's family can secretly set up a surprise, and while wandering he starts to feel he does not belong anywhere. He is turned away by the dogs at the park, then meets Barb the seafaring sailor, who joins him to search for where he came from, though all Sharkdog can recall is the sea. When noon arrives he heads home to find the family waiting with a party and a shark-shaped cake. They tell him that fins or feet, he is one of a kind and belongs right there with them.

Sharkdoggy Day

On Sharkdoggy Day, Max plans a perfect day for his pet Sharkdog: a dive at the aquarium, beach games with friends, and a fish barbecue at home. When Dad forgets the fish, Sharkdog goes to fetch it from Captain Barb, who enlists him to find a lost map to a secret island that might hold more shark dogs. Torn between the day with Max and the map hunt, Sharkdog keeps sneaking off until he finally confesses. The map turns out to be faded beyond use, but Max and the whole pack reassure Sharkdog that he will always have them.

During a sleepover, Max, Shark Dog and their friends watch a scary monster movie, then hear a strange noise downstairs after bedtime. Convinced a monster is in the house, they creep through the dark, get frightened and chase the creature together. Along the way they admit that everyone is scared and agree that you do not always have to be brave. The 'monster' turns out to be Max's dad, tangled in exercise bands with a popcorn bucket stuck on his head.

Gnome Is Where the Art Is

In the seaside town of Foggy Springs, a half-shark half-dog pet named Sharkdog keeps rushing to help people and keeps accidentally ruining grumpy Mr. Hubel's painting for the gnome art contest. Hubel loses his temper and tells Sharkdog he never wants to see him again, leaving the pup convinced he has failed. Max comforts Sharkdog, explaining that not everyone will like him and that is okay. The ruined painting is mistaken for brilliant abstract art and wins the trophy, and Hubel softens toward Sharkdog by the end.

Along the way Sharkdog briefly feels alone and is reassured by Max before the friends agree to reach the island once they have some patience.

Sharkdog stays behind to tidy up and welcomes the pup as part of the family.

School of Sharkpups

Max, a boy whose pet is the shark-dog Sharkdog, discovers that three tiny shark pups have stowed away in his gym bag on the way to school. Through the day he and Sharkdog chase the pups across the cafeteria, gym, hallways and bathroom, trying to catch them before classmates and teachers notice. A lucky 'shark bark' finally gathers the pups, but the teacher thinks Max is sick and calls his mom to take him home. The episode ends as Max starts to admit there is something, or maybe three things, he needs to tell her.

Sharkbites and Pupcakes

Max and his dad set up a dog-treat stall at the Foggy Springs Food Fair and make a bet with rival seller Dennis over who can sell the most by noon. When the stowaway shark pups eat every treat, Shark Dog suggests they bake a fresh batch, but an extra-strong fishy smell sends the fair's dogs and the pups into a wild 'shark mode' that wrecks the stall. The town ends up charmed by the adorable pups, though Dennis technically sells one more treat and wins the count. Max accepts the loss, deciding they had the best time and that keeping the pups happy means having more fun with them.

Puptown Funk

Sharkdog and Max set out to prove that three wild shark pups, Hammerhead, Mega Mouth and Sausage, belong in the town of Foggy Springs after Max's father worries they are too much of a handful. Splitting up to take each pup somewhere fun, the children instead trigger 'shark mode,' sending the pups on chaotic rampages across a construction site, the beach and the sea. Piecing together their observations, the group works out that darkness calms the pups and uses that to bring them safely home asleep. Dad agrees the pups can stay for now, on the condition that Max reports any danger right away.

Pup, Pup and Away

When Max's shark pups escape into wild 'shark mode' and rampage through Foggy Springs, he and Sharkdog set out to recapture them before Dad finds out. With help from friends Royce, Ollie and Annabelle, the group chases the pups through gardens, a boardwalk and the beach, testing ideas about what sets them off. One pup, Mega Mouth, hurts her fin in a fall, so the children finally bring the problem to Dad, who says Max should have told him sooner. The episode ends with Dad, Max and Sharkdog heading off to catch the last two pups spotted out at sea.

Sharks on a Boat

Max, his dad and the pirate captain Barb race to keep three wild shark pups safe as the little creatures keep flipping into a frenzied 'shark mode'. When Barb's boat is rammed and sinks, Sharkdog dives down to rescue the trapped pups from the ocean floor. The family works out that the growing wind is calling the pups back to the secret island where they came from. At sunset Max makes the hard choice to send the pups home, and the group sets off on one last adventure to get them there.

Return to the Island

Max and his friends set out with Captain Barb in a rebuilt submarine to return a group of shark pups to their secret island, navigating spinning whirlpools and a monster-filled cave to get there. At the island, Sharkdog must decide whether to stay with the pups he calls family or go home with Max. He says a tearful goodbye but turns back at the last moment, choosing Max and then rescuing the crew when their submarine gets trapped in a vortex. The episode ends with the town celebrating Sharkdog as a hero back in Foggy Springs.
