Cooperation
Cooperation is what happens when two people want to do something together and have to figure out how. For young children that means sharing space, taking turns, asking for help and letting someone else have an idea first. A calm, well-made series can show this in slow motion, so a child sees the small steps a person takes to work with someone else instead of alongside them.
For 2-year-olds
At two, cooperation is mostly about being near another child and noticing them. Real sharing is still hard, because a toy in someone else's hands feels like a toy that is gone. Look for stories where a character hands something over, waits a moment, or does something simple side by side with a friend, with the moment held long enough to take in. Repetition helps here more than plot; the same small gesture returning is what makes it stick.

For 3-year-olds
Three-year-olds start to want a playmate, and they run into the friction that comes with one. Turn-taking becomes possible but collapses fast when feelings run high. Useful stories name what is happening out loud, so a child hears that someone is upset and hears the words that fix it. Watch for characters who ask before grabbing, and for adults who guide rather than settle everything themselves.

For 4-year-olds
By four, children invent games together and need agreements to keep them going: who is who, what the rules are, what happens when someone changes them. Cooperation now includes negotiating and giving something up on purpose. Look for stories with a shared goal that genuinely needs more than one character, where each one contributes something different. Small disagreements that get worked out on screen are more useful than friendships that never wobble.
